Professional Development MSE - Emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction (UW-Whitewater)

The Professional Development MSE is a program designed for educators who want to improve their teaching, better understand and utilize research, and develop a more resonant "professional voice."

The coursework in the Curriculum and Instruction emphasis leads students through an exploration of current and timelessly relevant educational issues, including curriculum development, classroom management, differentiation, effective technology usage, literacy and culture, educational research and its value in professional practice, and action research. Students engage in online discussions and individual projects that are focused on developing skills, activities, and advanced perspectives immediately applicable in their classrooms and formative to their long-term development. All courses are taught by faculty with experience in K-12 classrooms. All faculty either hold doctorates or have master's degrees and ten or more years instructional experience.
