The Master of Arts in Physics Education (MAPE) is offered through the Graduate College of Arts and Sciences. Through distance learning and summer study in Charlottesville, the program provides middle school physical science and high school physics teachers with a stronger background in physics.

Students can complete the 30-credit hour requirements for the degree in two and a half years by taking two summer courses in residence at UVa and two online courses during the academic year. Advising is available through the Department of Physics.
