The Department of Counseling and School Psychology is offering a master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling primarily online. It is a 60 credit master's which meets the academic requirements for national certification as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. The Program is nationally accredited through the Council On Rehabilitation Education. Students must attend a two week session in late June and early July at UMass Dartmouth where they take two clinically based courses. Also, students complete a series of general counseling courses and courses specific to rehabilitation counseling. In addition, students complete field experiences in rehabilitation counseling settings through practicum and internship. The field experiences may be completed in local agencies of program students and they will supervised via online chats.
