The Master of Engineering (M Eng) is a professional degree designed for students seeking a non-specific discipline degree in engineering who do not normally have access to traditional degree granting programs at the graduate level. No "core" courses are required as part of the M Eng degree program; each individual program of study will be developed from a list of available courses, student interests, educational background, work experience, and needs.

The primary objective of this inter-disciplinary program is to allow professional engineers to pursue a flexible graduate degree in a web-based format. The program will uphold the same rigorous academic requirements as programs offered on the Mississippi State University Campus.
