The purpose of the Master of Science with a major in computer systems and software design (MSSD) is to educate a new generation of managers, planners, analysts and programmers in the specification, design and deployment of the next generation of computing and information systems. The program is designed for students with an interest in pursing a career in information technology, either in business, industry, government, non-profit organizations, or in college teaching. It provides students with an applied approach to learning, focusing on factors and issues relevant in contemporary software development. The program emphasizes the methods and processes used in successful software organizations.
