If you are interested in how human social interactions shape all areas of life, you should major in sociology. Race, gender, social class, inequality, family, religion, media and law can influence social interactions. In the Bachelor of Arts or Science in Sociology, you will have the opportunity to take courses in sociological theory, social movements, social institutions (such as law, medicine, and the media), and social stratifications including class, race, and gender-based inequalities. Although the time frame for degree completion varies with the individual student, the sociology major is structured as a four-year degree program. The degree can be completed three ways: entirely on-campus, online (through web-based or lecture-capture based courses) or through a combination of both.
